The Graphic Art Biennial of Szeklerland celebrates its 10th anniversary in the year 2020. The exhibitions presented so far within the framework of this international contest, as well as the professional quality and the quantity of the submitted artworks have confirmed, that the development of graphic techniques respectively the development of different visual representation forms manifesting themselves through these, is continuous. The biennial to be organized for the 6th time now is an excellent occasion for the organizers as well to sum up the experiences of the past decade in order to use them successfully by the organisation of the next event of this kind.

On the 13th of October 2018 the exhibition of the 5th Graphic Art Biennial has been opened in the Transylvanean Art Centre of Sfântu Gheorghe. The Awards Gala took place at the Tamási Áron Theatre, where the organizers presented the awarded artists and art works of the biennial. The Grand Prize was awarded to the Chinese artist Jing Liu for his series entitled Masters.
On the 12th of October from 7 o’clock p.m. a book launch with exhibition entitled “The documents of an uncompleted oeuvre” took place in the House of Arcades in Sfântu Gheorghe. The exhibition pays tribute to the memory of the former curator of the Graphic Art Biennial, Zsolt Siklodi.
On the 12th of November 2018 the opening ceremony of the individual exhibition of the Polish graphic artist Kamil KOCUREK took place in the Keresztes House in Sfântu Gheorghe. Those present at the event were welcomed by the curator of the exhibition Magdalena Hanysz-Stefańska, who presented the artist.
On the 13th of October, in the framework of the Awards Gala of the 5th Graphic Art Biennial the jazz concert of the Luiza Zan and Péter Sárik Duo will take place in the great hall of the Tamási Áron Theatre from 6 p.m.
The 5th Graphic Art Biennial of Szeklerland, set as a goal true to previous years to show the integrative role of graphic art. The event was surrounded by great interest on the part of the profession. This year came in around 2300 artworks of more than 900 artists from 58 countries.
The exhibition presenting around thirty prints aims to provide us insight into a little segment of Polish graphics with great traditions and many significant personalities. The opening ceremony of the exhibition will take place on the 17th of October 2018 at 6 p.m. in the Art Gallery of Harghita County Council.
On the 12th of October 2018 at 7 p.m. will take place the book launch and exhibition in memory of Zsolt Siklodi, former curator of the Graphic Art Biennial of Szeklerland in the House with Arcades. At the beginning Zsolt Siklodi created his „visual experiments” with a graphical approach, sometimes using classical means (lithography, drawing, etching) and sometimes using the possibilities of the new technologies (plotter, photocopies, mechanical engraving). At the same time, he also tried new ways in other genres with a lot of playfulness.
Exhibition with title ‘Arena of games’ presents works which were created in years 2014 - 2018. Will be exhibited sets of intaglio prints, main part of these prints are the compositions are a kind of polyptych presented fit in a structured and specific modular arrangement which forms a multiplied graphic compositions.

The Graphic Art Biennial of Szeklerland, based on ten long years’ experience, is gaining ever more attention and recognition. This is well supported by the number and artistic value of the artworks submitted to the 5th Graphic Art Biennial of Szeklerland. During the ten-week submission period 2249 artworks by 934 artists were submitted altogether, which is almost the double of the previous edition of the Biennial.
